The Successor to the legendary TR-808 drum machine is of course the equally as celebrated TR-909. With firm links to the very beginning of
Techno and House music the 909 sound has become an integral part of dance music production. Like its predecessor the TR-909 is now a much sought-after instrument and can be heard on countless records spanning across many different styles of electronic music.
Wave Alchemy’s 909 Drums faithfully captures the 909 sound by using a careful sampling process born out of shear passion for the original
instrument. Each Drum sample has been recorded using a unique, high-end signal chain designed to capture the depth and character of the original machine. Further outboard processing, precision editing and creative sample layering brings these classic TR-909 samples firmly into the present giving you a “modern take on a classic sound”.
In true wave alchemy style the TR-909 has been lovingly sampled with great care taken to capture the tone of the equipment used. All drum
samples have been recorded through an API 512 pre-amp with many of the sounds featuring different saturation settings from outboard devices such as the Cranesong Hedd, Empirical Labs Fatso, Distressor and Thermionic Culture Vulture.
909 Drums is ideal for producers of house, techno, hip-hop, minimal, down tempo and everything in-between.
