ADAMP PROFILES
The BHP ADAMP seeks to recreate the classic guitar tones from rigs that incorporated the ADA. MP-1. The MP-1 was arguably the most widely used rack preamp among rock and metal players, do largely to it’s MIDI controllability, hot rodded tones and affordable price. Players like Nuno Bettencourt (Extreme), Vito Bratta (White Lion), Paul Gilbert (Mr. Big), Skid Row and even Smashing Pumpkins and Metallica used the MP-1 extensively. The ADAMP tones were created using multiple speaker and cabinets, and actual outboard EQ unit that was actually used on many of the famous MP-1 recordings. The BHP ADAMP is a pack of 35 profiles for use with the Kemper Profiling Amplifier. NEW V2 UPDATE! : Most of my profiles are made with recording in mind (even though they work great live), and many of them emulate recorded tones. Because of that, some of the profiles match the recorded EQ curve of an album. So with the V2 patches, I was thinking, “OK, if I was going to go play a live show and brought my ( insert preamp name here ), how would I dial in my channels. The ADAMP V2 patches are 5 new STUDIO, DIRECT, and MERGED profile, ranging from clean to full searing lead. It’s the first time I’ve ever released Direct profiles. All of the V2 profiles were recorded with a gorgeous chrome faced VHT Classic EL34 power amp, which I didn’t have when working on the V1 (so that’s new too).
ADA45 PROFILES
The ADA45 Profile Pack seeks to recreate the tones of the A.D.A. MP-1 preamp. Classic albums from Skid Row, White Lion, and Extreme were all recorded with the MP-1 AND they all used the same preset!!! Uber-Producer Michael Wagener produced all of these artists and crafted some of the most iconic distorted tones ever to come blasting through speakers. This pack uses some of the same techniques he used, as well as some of the exact same gear that he used on these recordings (I purchased some of these units from him several years ago).
The power sections for this pack were the VHT 2150 and the EL34 power section of a BE100.
