Similar to “Berlin Woodwinds” I wanted to have everything under one roof (I mean, All instruments under 1 Main Library), Hence I came up with this Mix-Match Concept.
-:MIC Positions Explained:-
1. CLOSE Mic only : For Individual Instruments / Solo Instruments from “Berlin Brass v1.1″ Library.
2. TREE MIc Only : For all 3 Ensemble Instruments (Horns, Trumpets & Trombones) from Berlin Brass v1.1 + For all Instruments from” Additional Instruments v1.0″ Library.
Custom MULTI Instruments (.nkm) were created for all the 3 Ensemble instruments (Horns, Trumpets & Trombones) which uses both CLOSE mics (from Individual Instruments / Solo Instruments) and also TREE mic (from Ensemble Patches).
This custom created .nkm helps to save some amount of extra space on the disc, by not consuming additional space for dual mic samples for all the instruments of Berlin Brass Main library and, also by achieving both CLOSE & TREE Mic feel for Large Ensemble patches by consuming less disc space.
And, as usually, CLOSE mics will be good for “Solo” purpose, which can be used by the Individual Instruments present in the Berlin Brass Main Library.
Hoping that the above descriptions were clear enough in understanding as to why I choose to retain specific MIC positions for specific patches.
And most importantly, this get’s clearly understood once you start using the library and custom created .nkm files.
