Drum Auto Slicer Grid Preset

In my latest video, I talked about how Bitwig Studio’s sampler lacks a slicing mode—a feature I believe is essential for such a dynamic instrument. Here are the key moments from the video:
•I mentioned my disappointment that the revamped sampler in Bitwig Studio doesn’t include a slicing feature to easily map drum loops and such onto a MIDI keyboard.
•To address this, I created a slicing tool inside Bitwig’s grid, which I demonstrated but could not show how to build from scratch due to the complexity and time it would take to explain.
•I explained my transient detector module, which scans a drum loop and stores slice positions into an array for keyboard mapping.
•I walked through the process of how the sample is loaded, scanned, and how each detected transient is mapped to a key, allowing for keyboard playback of slices.
•I discussed the technical aspects, like using an envelope follower for transient detection and converting pitch to integers for accurate key mapping.
•I shared my solution for handling the start and end points of slices, converting the position to loop length in percentage for the sampler.
•I touched upon the scanning process, which uses an envelope for a ramp signal, and how different settings can affect the transient detection.
•I emphasized that the patch I created is fast and responsive, but requires a slight delay in triggering to ensure the correct slice is played.
•Finally, I invited viewers to download the patch from my Patreon page and encouraged Bitwig Studio to incorporate a native slicing feature in the future.
