Berlin based engineers Elcobit today announced a new Mac OS app accompanied by a VST plugin integratable into your favourite DAW. After targeting the emerging noise music scene with the NoiseMaschine mobile app, which is available on iOS and Android OS, Elcobit is back!
The new Ovalizer VST2-plugin mimics and emulates the digital errors caused by damaged compact discs. In order to generate enigmatic micro loops you no longer need to manually scratch the surface of your favourite CDs. With Ovalizer you load a track and the app will create “virtual scratches” that can then by modified and mangled with various parameters.
Ovalizer offers unique remix capabilities and an innovative work flow: Up to four independent voices can be canonically layered, tuned and deformed and randomly rescoped with just one button click. By re-triggering the engine the granular pieces will be cut automatically from the parent track to be modified and looped for a few milliseconds up to the length of the original source file.
Create instant remix tracks by modifying Ovalizers micro loops in real-time and record the results straight to your harddsik. Ovalizer allows up to 15 minutes of loss-less recording time in Stereo, 44.100 KHz (equal to CD quality; higher or lower sample rate is supported as given by host application).
Worth to mention is Ovalizer’s “stop & go” recording capability: Live recordings can be stopped and started at any time while allowing multiple control parameter changes inbetween. Get ready to produce never heard mixes of your favorite tracks – or just create smooth ambient soundscapes.
Ovalizer is available as stand-alone Mac OS app and as VST2 instrument plugin. Ovalizer is a reminiscence to the famous glitch sounds made popular by such artists as OVAL or AUTECHRE.
