Freyja Female Choir v1.2.0 KONTAKT
19 June 2021 | KONTAKT | 2.70 GB
This is a light version of the Strezov Sampling Freyja Female Choir library. The library features a female choir comprising of ten altos and ten sopranos. It has 8 syllables and 26 polyphonic legato combinations. The choir sounds soft and emotional. The dynamics and tone cover a good range, which makes it useful for softer, mellow compositions as well more epic compositions. The legato sounds quite smooth and realistic. The library also features a “Syllabuilder Engine”, which is quite easy to use and provides great results when making words and phrases with the included syllables. As it is recorded in the Sofia Session Studio, it blends well with the male counterpart of this library. Overall, a good, easy-to-use female choir library that’s also very versatile.
Following changes were made to the library:
1. The “Hall” mic sample group was removed, as it didn’t add too much value and can easil;y be replaced by a reverb. The included “Close” mic position provides detail and clarity, while the “Decca” mic position provides a good amount ambience and makes it sit in the mix well.
2. The samples in the original release were in 24-bit 48kHz format. The samples were converted to 16-bit 48kHz. And unlike the original library, the samples were then packed into NKX containers, which speeds up loading and file transfer times. A null test results in a peak of -85dB, which won’t be audible at all. Also, after quite some testing, no issues were found with noise floor build-up when playing lots of notes. The conversion process takes the size down to 2.70GB from the original 8.18GB, which is a 67% reduction!
The result of these changes is that patches now consume much less memory than the original. For example, the “Freyja_Women.nki” patch now takes up just 0.73GB of RAM instead of 2.02GB in the case of the original library!
NOTE: Kontakt v5.8.0 or higher is required. This is an Open format library, so it can be used in both legit as well as k’d Kontakt.
