Homage Series – Paisley ToneX Pack

Originally sparked as a special customer request, I thought this one would be appreciated by all the Paisley fans and Nashville/country players out there, so decided to make it more widely available for purchase. Brad is a special kind of player and has a fantastic ear for tone, so this was a fun one to research and dial in. I ended up selecting a ZWreck and AC30 with a special blend of alnico blue and golds. While I think his touch, pickups, and insane scale to his rig (the dude has been known to gig with 7 amps in the past!) play a big part in the magic of his core sound, I think we got it dialed in pretty dang close for the ToneX crowd. Don’t get it twisted though, this pack doesn’t have to just be for the country players – I find it to be really versatile for use in other genres, as well, with the glassy/chime-y cleans and thick, harmonically-rich overdrive sounds.
Captures included in this pack (the gain-staged captures after Clean consist of the pedals running into the front of the blended amps):
Clean – just the ZWreck and AC30 dialed to edge of breakup for that classic Nashville spank
Dirty Boost – Greer lightspeed set to push the amp a bit further into breakup and give it a bit more grit
Sig OD – Brad’s signature Wampler Paisley Drive in front of the ZWreck + AC30 blend
Cranked – Cranked the amp and put the Lightspeed in front to push it over the edge to give more of the natural harmonically rich OD that Brad utilizes a ton
Lead – TS808 (commonly found on Brad’s board) stacked with the Paisley Drive in front of the ZWreck + AC30 blend
This should give you a nice range of drive tones and textures to work with. Sound samples below!
