Match Ultimate – Chieftain + DC30 Blended ToneX
ToneX | 194 KB
If you love Matchless amps, this is the one for you! I blended two fantastic tone models of a Chieftain and DC30 on tone net together and the product is a chime-y masterpiece that takes on the unique Marshall-y breakup character of the Chieftain.
I wanted to flesh this pack out with some more options for baked-in drive pedals and stacked combinations to give you a ton of flexibility with gain staging for live use – effectively with this you instantly add a JHS Superbolt, Morning Glory, Browne Protein, Greer Lightspeed, Benson Preamp, Vemuram TSV808, Klon, Cornerstone Gladio, and a King of Tone to your arsenal of sounds on the toneX pedal, allowing you to ditch your external drive pedals and open up space on your board for other FX!
Captures included in this pack (the gain-staged captures after Clean consist of the pedals running into the front of the blended amps):
Clean – just the Chieftain and DC30 blended 50/50 with the gain knob rolled back slightly to clean it up
Edge – just the Chieftain and DC30 blended 50/50 with the gain knob at 5 for a bit more grit when you dig in
Lightspeed – Greer lightspeed set to light gain to push the amp a bit more
Protein Bl – Browne Protein blue side (BB/carbon) set to light gain to give some more glass on top and a tiny bit less bass
Superbolt – JHS superbolt set to light gain
Bnsn Pre – Benson preamp set somewhere between light-medium gain
KoT – Analogman King of Tone set somewhere between light-medium gain
JHS MG – JHS Morning Glory set to medium gain
Gladio – Cornerstone gladio set to medium gain
Klon/KoT – Klon stacked with King of Tone stacked for medium gain
808/LgtSpd – Vemuram TSV808 + Greer Lightspeed stacked for medium+ gain
Bnsn/Bolt – Benson preamp + JHS Superbolt stacked for medium+ gain
Stacked – Vemuram TSV808 + Gladio + JHS Superbolt stacked for high-ish gain
This should give you a nice range of drive and EQ textures to work with. Sound samples below!
