Reason master Paul Ortiz brings you awesome Reason 11 production video tutorials! See how to utilize many of Reason 11’s new features and functions to build a killer electronic track from scratch, including effect and mixing tips & tricks. Reason Project session included! These videos are designed for intermediate Reason 11 users who know their way around the program.
To begin, Paul greets you and then goes over the concept of using Blocks and the PolyStep sequencer to create quick arrangements and re-usable song sections, as well as to input sequences that would otherwise be too fast to play in realtime. Next, you’ll see how to craft Baseline and Pad parts for the song, including cool sound design ideas, and how to use Reason 11’s Automation features creatively.
Moving on, you’ll learn program the drum parts by using extracted drum hits from REX loops to build a killer kit in Kong, as well as use the Drum Sequencer device to sequence Trap style hats alongside conventional note clips. You’ll then see how to design a basic patch in the included West Coast Modular synth, Complex 1, plus how to organize your project, and then test out the arrangement using the powerful Blocks lane feature.
Throughout the rest of the videos Paul gives you priceless information on working the arrangement, how to beef up the bass and arpeggio sounds, using the Karplus Strong string model in Europa to design a punchy percussive bass sound, deeper programming tips & tricks, utilizing sidechaining and multi-outs, adding vocals and much more.
