SLMR ZOD30 NAM Essential DI
Neural Amp Modeler Guitar Amplifier Captures
This is one of the rarest amps in our collection – we actually have hunted one for more than 5 years. They seldom go for sale and when they do, the prices tend to sky-rocket.
The SLMR croc skin ZOD30 amp has been brought to provenance mainly by Arctic Monkeys, who use them extensively, but also Jack White has made extensive use of it on the Elephant album. Occasionally other artists have been using these very unique amps.
They have a distinctive bite in the drive character – it is almost fuzz-like when cranked, but very detailed without getting harsh. Has beautiful crunch and clean tones. Difficult to describe and compare to anything you already know, as it is its own thing.
Channel I set to edge of breakup and a pedal in front is something to behold of. You can get massive tones unlike from any other amp we’ve tried, no matter how many watts, period. This instantly gives you Jack White Vibes.
Channel II has various preset switches that filter various frequencies on the channel, making it very versatile despite just the Tone and Volume knobs on the EQ side of things.
It is also capable of nice and big clean tones and it in general sounds like a big amp, which it by all means also is.
The amp was tracked through the built in 2X12 Celestion G12 alnico speakers, 2X Royer R121, 1X Beyerdynamic M16 and 1X Neumann U87 mics.
The set includes 23 DI captures ranging from clean to lead. Please refer to the table under the product pics for detailed info on each capture.
