If you’ve always wanted to sing jazz, but aren’t sure where to start, or you’ve been thrown by some of the terminology, then this class is for you. You don’t need any singing experience or music theory, just a passion for jazz.
In this class, you’ll learn what jazz singing is and how it differs from just singing jazz songs. You’ll also learn about keys, tempos and phrasing. You’ll be armed with the tools for taking your jazz singing career to the next step and beyond!
In the handouts for the class, you will find links to some great jazz recordings and lyrics. You’ll also find backing tracks for you to sing over.
To complete the class, you’ll need to be able to record yourself singing. This could be as basic as playing the track through a laptop or iPad, and recording yourself sing on your phone. And that’s all you’ll need!
I’ve been singing jazz for around 20 years now. I’ve performed internationally, recorded several albums and been played on stations around the world. I’ve even been nominated for a couple of awards. But most importantly, I am passionate about jazz and I’m really excited to share that passion and my knowledge with you.
